In a media appearance on Monday, Balogun expressed his personal motivation to reach the group stage, stating, “I have never played in the Champions League, I have played in qualifiers before… At this stage of my career, it would be one of my biggest achievements.”

Rangers face Dynamo Kyiv in the third qualifying round, first leg, on August 6, with the winner advancing to the playoff round. Balogun emphasized the team’s determination, saying, “Everybody is very determined to put in a performance… It has obviously been a quick turnaround, but it is a big occasion.”

The experienced defender, who has played in twenty Europa League games, acknowledged the significance of qualifying for the Champions League, saying, “If you want to play in the Champions League, there is no greater motivation in football.”

Balogun’s Rangers team was beaten by Malmo in the 2021-2022 season’s Champions League qualifiers, but he is now more determined than ever to make a breakthrough. With his experience and leadership, Rangers will be counting on him to guide them through the challenging qualifiers.

The winner of the Rangers vs. Dynamo Kyiv tie will face the winner of Red Bull Salzburg vs. FC Twente in the Champions League qualification playoff. Balogun’s personal motivation and the team’s collective determination make this a crucial match for Rangers’ Champions League aspirations.

The season progresses and Balogun’s experience and expertise will be invaluable in navigating the challenges of European competition. His desire to reach the Champions League group stage is a testament to his commitment to excellence and his determination to achieve success with Rangers.
